User's Manual for Dimmable LED Downlights

This manual includes important information about checking after receiving the product, cautions, working environment of the product, user's responsibilities, malfunction explanations and operation instructions, please read it carefully before you use the product.

Product Checking

1) Unpack and carefully examine the product.
2) Report any damage and save all packing material if any part is damaged during the transportation.
3) Do not attempt to use this device if it is damaged.


1) This device shall be installed and operated by a qualified electrician or technician in accordance with all relevant local codes.
2) Risk of electric shock. Ensure that the power supply is off when wiring or soldering the sections of the device.
3) Do not use sharp tools near or on the surface of the device.
4) The operating temperature shall be limited from -20 to 40 degree Celsius.
5) The input voltage shall be 110-240V AC, 50/60Hz.
6) The lights shall be used or stored in dry places, where ambient humidity ranges 10-70% RH and no corrosive gases exist.
7) The lights shall not be exposed to high interference caused by the magnetic or electric fields, which is subject to the standards of CE.
8) The 350mA lights shall go with a 350mA decoder and the 700mA lights with a 700mA decoder. (Please choose the specified decoder to work with the downlights for the ideal color changing effects)

Working Environment

This device is suitable for indoor use, and applicable for dry environment.

User Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the contractor, installer, purchaser, owner, and user to install, maintain, and operate the device in such a manner as to comply with all state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations.

Malfunction Explanations

1) Power the lights improperly or unstably, out of the specified input voltage range.
2) Wrongly wire or connect non-standard components to the lights.

  • Wire the constant current RGB downlight without following the instructions, use the same decoder to control both 350mA downlights and 700mA ones and match the improper constant current decoder with the lights.
  • Wrongly wire the low voltage downlights directly to the high voltage.
  • Incorrect input voltage into the ELV controllable downlights or the total power consumption of downlights connected in series exceeds the max load of the decoder.
  • Choose an incompatible decoder to control the downlights.
3) Components are oxidized due to the high ambient humidity when in storage or in operation.
4) Use the downlights without following the instructions (For example, the brightness will lose fast in high maganetic or electric fields).
5) Light does not turn ON and ON/OFF LED on the ELV dimmer does not turn ON
  • Circuit breaker or fuse has tripped.
  • Lamp is burned out.
  • Lamp is not connected to line Neutral.
6) Lights Flickering
  • Lamp has a bad connection.
  • Wires not secured firmly with wire connectors

Operation Instructions

When the LED downlight is connected to an ELV dimmer, follow the instructions below to perform dimming operation.
1. GREEN LED will remain ON when the lights are OFF - Facilitates access to switch in the dark.
2. Depress push-button switch to ON position - Lights will turn ON (GREEN LED will turn OFF).
3. Move slider - Lights will brighten or dim to level set.
4. Depress push-button switch to OFF position - Lights will turn OFF (GREEN LED will turn ON).
5. Lights will turn ON at set brightness level (from either switch location in a 3-way installation).
